Pelle Pince is a family run passion-project begun by Laszlo & Marriana, as an homage to the region and grape varieties of Mád in Tokaj. László's background may not be in viticulture but his passion for the region and also traditional Hungarian products, has driven him to learn continuously about the region and its more traditional methods of production. Emphasis is placed on the individual vineyard plots surrounding the Pelle house just outside the village of Mád. Vineyard selection is extremely rigorous, the top wines come from the top graded sites and the entry blends from the second and third, the classification system dates back to 1772. This though is not the only selection if any fruit is considered sub standard it is taken to László’s distillery to be turned into pálinka. As such, total bottle production is tiny, varying hugely from year to year.
